Dante and Heather sat down for an interview at Paranormal Romance Addict and had a great time. Von dropped in to add his two cents as well. The giveaway goes until April 28th and the winner will receive a signed copy of any of my books – winner’s choice. So drop by, say hello, and enter!
Here’s a peek at the interview:
PRA: I am incredibly excited to interview Dante Baptiste and Heather Wallace today. Heather and Dante are two fabulous characters from Adrian Phoenix’s The Makers Song Series.
I know Dante’s not a big fan of interviews so I’ll try to be gentle. *looks over at Dante and grins* Well, unless you like it rough. *winks*
Dante: *laughs, the sound low and warm* Gentle? Ain’t familiar with that word. I only know rough, so go on, give me your best, chère.
PRA: *looks over at Heather* Haha, sorry!
Heather: *smiles and flaps a hand* No need to apologize. I’m getting used to it. Hardly anyone says a word to Dante that isn’t brimming with sexual innuendo. Even me. *grins* I mean look at him.
Dante: *snorts*
Heather: *plants a quick kiss on his lips* Talk and innuendo I can deal with. But touching or kissing or groping – now that’s another matter altogether.
Dante: *teasing smile* Aw, I love it when you go all alpha female on me, catin.

I managed to convince Dante to sit down at the keyboard and share a few of thoughts on WereVampsRomance. There’s also a big giveaway–a signed set of all 4 Maker’s Song books, and three other winners get a signed book of their choice.
CONTEST ENDS AT 11:59 PM TONIGHT APRIL 2nd (Pacific Time)!
Here’s a taste of what’s simmering in Dante’s mind:
To celebrate the release of the fourth book in The Maker’s Song saga, Etched in Bone, I convinced the story’s badass and beautiful Dante Baptiste—Cajun, sexy frontman for Inferno, not to mention nightkind AND Fallen (provided I can get him to stop rolling his eyes and pretending to gag) to join y’all and discuss a few subjects close to his heart. And now I turn the blog over to Dante.
Merci beaucoup, but a simple “it’s all yours, asshole” woulda done for an intro. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Dante Baptiste, I live in New Orleans, and I’m the frontman for Inferno—among other things.

Do you think Dante from Adrian Phoenix’s Maker’s Song series would get along with Eric from J.F. Lewis’s Void City books? Or that sparks would fly between Abby from Brush of Darkness and Azrael from Surrender the Dark? In the comments, tell us which unlikely duo you want to see meet up. 250 words or less, please!
Have fun! And spread the word!

I truly enjoy each visit I get to make to Patricia’s Vampire Notes and I can’t thank her enough for all of her support from day one. This giveaway has three prizes and three winners and runs through to the end of March. Please swing by, say hello, and post a comment for your chance to become one of the winners.
Here’s a taste of the interview:
PVN: Dante is a vampire (and much more). Please describe the characteristics of the vampires you have created.
Adrian: You bet. In The Maker’s Song world, vampires (nightkind) are a separate species, not undead. They have heartbeats, warmth—though this generally fades when they don’t feed—and beauty. Oh. And sexy. They have many powers and abilities (some of which only manifest with age) such as telepathy, heightened senses, enhanced speed and strength, grace and reflexes, the ability to fly, work illusion and suggestion, immortal—but capable of being killed (in the proper manner, of course). LOL.
There are two kinds of vampires—born vampires, known as True Bloods, and turned vampires. True Bloods have become few and far between during the last few centuries, giving rise to the fear (among nightkind elders) that the sacred Bloodline is dying out, diluted over the course of time by all the turned vampires (including themselves).
A True Blood is regarded as nightkind royalty and viewed as a force of nature, a night elemental, by the human nomad clans—a being they respect. Their abilities—telepathy, enhanced strength, speed, etc. are magnified a hundred-fold. A born vampire’s blood brims with power and magic—power and magic they can bestow (temporarily) upon anyone who takes a taste of their blood.
Never having been human, True Bloods tend to isolate themselves from mortals (except to feed and play) and view the world in a very different light.
Nightkind are sensitive to light and need to avoid the sun. True Bloods need to avoid the sun at all costs and usually that’s easy because nightkind—turned or born—are subject to Sleep during daylight hours. Wherever they are, whatever they are doing, Sleep steals over them in a dark and narcotic tide and down they go—helpless until dusk.

On Strange Candy Reviews, I thought I’d offer up a bit of tongue in cheek advice for those going out on their first few dates with nightkind. Dating a member of your own species is hard enough, but dating a member of the twilight-to-dawn crowd? Fuhget-about-it!
Here’s a taste:
Dating can be awkward at best, but going out with nightkind offers whole new kinds of awkward moments—from the first date to the ones that (hopefully) follow when you really start getting to know each other. Here’s a quick guide to avoid blunders and faux pas while dating that sexy bit of nightkind.
Dating Tips for Mortals:
1. Don’t make any daytime plans. Unless your date happens to sparkle in sunshine or has a special ring/potion/enchanted sunglasses or whatever, figure that all activity will be taking place after sunset. Any dates before sunset might require a fire extinguisher. They are called nightkind for a reason.
One lucky winner will receive a signed copy of Etched in Bone, plus a signed copy of any of the other Maker’s Song books!
